There are multiple alternative routes under consideration through the EIS process. In its application NorthWestern Energy was required to identify a preferred and two alternative routes. The final route will be determined by agencies through the EIS process. The following link will take you to a map of the routes under consideration.
Current MSTI alternative routes under consideration
The Montana Department of Environmental Quality maintains a GIS mapping system for the MSTI EIS. The link below will take you to the MDEQ's site for additional information on this process as well as the application submitted by NorthWestern Energy.
